Help take recovery
further.

Why a vessel matters

The work is local.
The distances are not.

Crystal Ailan operates from Badu Island. Reaching remote shorelines and moving recovered material requires boats, people and careful logistics.

An additional vessel is intended to extend that work: reaching more collection locations and supporting the movement of recovered material. Routes, carrying capacity and operating arrangements will depend on the final vessel and project plan.

The proposal

A practical next step for recovery.

01 · Reach

Access more shorelines

Support the ambition to reach remote communities and collection locations beyond the existing operation.

02 · Recovery

Move recovered material

Develop vessel capacity around the practical needs of collection, loading and transport from island communities.

03 · Country

Build local capability

Support an Indigenous-owned enterprise working to care for land, sea and culture through community-led recovery.

These are intended project outcomes. Delivery, capacity and timing depend on the agreed scope, funding and approvals.

Project status

From concept
to a working vessel.

The existing concept describes a proposed 12-metre barge. The final barge or landing-craft design and specification are still to be confirmed with Crystal Ailan.
